I don't know if you all do this to, but I constantly ebb & flow when it comes to inspirations. Once again, that is one of my connections with the moon - being able to shift and change. Currently I'm trying to figure out what story I'm trying to tell. Visually I have found that I'm most inspired by cohesive color schemes and high contrast. Here is a collection of some of my current crushes, as I'm trying to decipher my own visual alchemy.
Dark, moody, with a bit whimsy @deermeadow's instagram page transports you to an imaginary forest just outside of a foggy cemetery. There is a real lovely blend of arresting photographs mixed in with this artist's personal drawings. It is always so interesting to see someone so committed to an aesthetic.
Food! I'm finding myself following more and more food instagramers. Not because I'm very obsessed with cooking or food, but more because there is a real wonderful trend in food photography that I am vibing with. @ladyandpups has this Carravagio-esque lighting which really sets this work apart from the more common ethereal light-filled spaces I usually see (although I love those, too!).
She paints moons & I love moons. The instagram account of @stellamariabaer is like walking in a cavern of the moon with rose colored glasses. She makes me want to be an artist in the desert. Maybe I should move home with my parents and just take up painting again. Maybe ....
This instagram account reminds me of those delicate moments when you first wake up on a Saturday morning with nothing to pressing to do. @aalmadr combines aerial views of tea, with inspirational handletterings, and simplistic art moments. It's like a cool raining day in fall.
Food again, and flowers! @feminin_grace's feed is sugary, sweet, and makes me get scent tinges in the back of my mind of baking bread. There is this real contrast between floaty & airy photos, a bit out of focus, uploaded next to dark & crisp images. A real treat!
I hope this has helped to inspire you all a bit in finding your own photographic alchemy. I know I for sure am still searching, but I look forward to unraveling my truth.
With love & beauty,
